Men's Health Workout Routines

By: Jim Conway

First, it is important to understand that to burn a pound of fat requires solitary expense 3,500 calories of energy. At first, I thought the best way was through running and other cardio exercises such as the stepper. So I ran countless miles and spent on the Stairmaster. I also lift weights with all the fancy machines at the gym. That worked pretty well. Within a few years, I lost about 40 pounds.

However, something happened along the way. I decided I wanted to be in the best shape of my life as good as when I was in high school and run a hundred miles a week. The way that worked just does not cut it anymore. I had plateaued, stalled like everyone around me. I felt like stuck in the hamster on a wheel syndrome.

Then I found out some interesting things about the development. Did you know that lifting weights actually help you burn more calories than running? Of course, in a half hour race that will burn more calories in half an hour of weightlifting. However, the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn throughout the day because muscle weighs more than fat and the body must work harder.

But I have really interesting things using weights and do compound or multi-joint exercises that work the entire body can force your body into a metabolic shock that makes you burn calories at a higher rate of days here to work.

Now I exercise like the clean and jerk, dumb bell fragments, lifts, squats, lunges, deadlines and other renegades. In a few weeks, I noticed a real difference and you want if you start doing these exercises.
